Another of our new cycle events is dedicated to opera. Opera belongs to the best-known music genres, and probably every one of us has come across it at some point in their life, whether at a concert or just hearing it as a mobile ringtone. The opera offers a countless number of moods, themes and forms, and it overlaps with many artistic genres. The overture is an integral and traditional part of the opera: it tells the story, creates the atmosphere and shows what direction the opera will take. It is also a separate musical unit in its own right, so each of the compositions you will hear this evening will “carry” you to a different place.
