The best contemporary musical singers accompanied by a rock band and the Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava will perform a selection of the most successful musicals Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, Hair, The Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables.

A selection of the best of the world’s musicals returns to the stage of Ostrava’s Gong in a concert performance. The best contemporary musical singers accompanied by a rock band and the Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava will perform a selection of the most successful musicals Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, Hair, The Phantom of the Opera and Les Misérables. Dan Bárta with his unmistakable rock voice, who became famous for his roles of Jesus and Judas in the most successful Czech production of the musical Jesus Christ Superstar, and together with him the most cast musical actors of today: Kristýna Daňhelová (nominated for the Thalia Award 2022), Oldřich Smysl (winner of the Musical-opereta 2021 Award in the category of the most popular musical actor), Radim Schwab, the most charismatic performer of the main role in the Prague version of The Phantom of the Opera, and Anna Jelínková, an opera singer who, thanks to her precise singing technique, is able to cross the borders of many genres. Monumental choral passages will be provided by the Lenka Dohnalová-Mlynářová Chamber Choir, whose members have been devoted to musical songs for three decades. The orchestral arrangements created for this project are accompanied by a rock band led by Petr Mlynář. The best of world musicals will be performed exclusively on one stage under the baton of Stanislav Vavřínek.
